On Friday, Gloucester High Street came alive with historical characters associated with the history of the Severn, including: Diver Lambert, Emma Darwin, Hannah Snell and Admiral Darby.
Saturday’s celebrations began with a procession through the streets of Gloucester to the Docks, where children presented the Sturgeon Moon River Inspectors with a gigantic metal plated sturgeon they had made with local artist Susie Walker.
Performances followed across the dockside areas involving Gloucester’s Poet Laureate Peter Wyton, the River Inspectors and a dastardly Sturgeon Hunter!
Don’t miss the opportunity to see the story continue at Upton Upon Severn on 10th and 11th August, Bridgnorth from 22nd – 25th August and Ironbridge on 22nd and 23rd September as part of the World Heritage Festival.
