Desperate Men are one of the UK’s longest-running Street Theatre Companies. Founded in Amsterdam in 1980 by Richie Smith and Jon Beedell, the company combines contemporary themes with an anarchic, passionate style.

Since 1980 Desperate Men have produced eight indoor shows; over thirty street shows, animations and community events in the UK and abroad; performed countless cabarets, led dozens of workshops, produced videos for Channel 4, and invented our own language, “Desperanto”. We’ve appeared from Edinburgh to Athens, Sligo to Berlin.
